Pregnant Pause

About This Puzzle

• A puzzle that invites you to pause: Edmund Dulac's dreamlike The Pregnant Pause, for lovers of vintage art and fantasy illustration.

In a tranquil seaside pavilion, a figure reclines among luxurious fabrics while two white peacocks stand nearby and sailing boats drift across calm waters. Soft blues, pinks, ivory and silver give the scene a dreamlike quality, and the intricate garments, textiles and peacocks make it a rewarding journey of discovery. French-born Dulac (1882–1953) was one of the most celebrated illustrators of the Golden Age of Book Illustration.
