Irises (1889) by Vincent van Gogh

About This Puzzle

• Van Gogh's Irises as a meditative wooden puzzle: a celebrated masterpiece to lose yourself in piece by piece, and a thoughtful gift for art lovers.

Painted in May 1889 in the gardens of the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Irises bursts with blue-violet blooms, sweeping green leaves and warm orange-red earth in his energetic brushwork. Look out for the single white iris among the blue. Van Gogh turned to painting for comfort in a difficult time and regarded this work as a study; today it hangs in the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
