Van Gogh

About This Puzzle

• Van Gogh's View of Auvers-sur-Oise in a highly decorative tessellation cut: a puzzle that is a challenge beyond ordinary jigsaw cuts.

Painted in May–June 1890 in his final months, the landscape glows with fresh greens, vivid blue and red rooftops and rolling fields, showing many of his brushwork techniques at once. The pieces swirl in a repeating arabesque pattern with curls, loops and flourishes instead of tabs and blanks, so you read both the image and each piece's outline. Finished, the cut lines lie over the picture like stained glass or filigree.
